Our story
The Roasting Shed is a small batch, speciality coffee roastery based in Hackney Wick, East London. Since the day we started, back in our garden shed, our philosophy has remained the same: uncompromising quality of product and service.
Our speciality coffee beans are roasted in small batches to ensure their unique flavours are highlighted and enhanced. The beans are fully traceable and sourced through a responsibly-minded transparent supply chain. Our mission is to cultivate meaningful relationships with growers and co-operatives, who are committed to respecting the environment and people.
As artisan roasters we strive to bring out the perfect balance of flavours within a single origin coffee, so that each note can be found in your cup. We hope you enjoy the results.

Espresso #086
Almond / Apricot / Chocolate
Espresso #086 is a syrupy number. Hints of almond in a boozy way like rich amaretto are pronounced. There is a stone fruit sweetness and a chocolatey bitter finish balancing everything off and producing a well rounded espresso. This is the second year running we’ve worked with the cooperative of farmers selected by the Primavera Family - La Familia, Guatemala - making up a 50% chocolatey foundation of this blend. The other half sourced from another returning origin on our roster. A group of smallholders called Nkanga, with whom we have worked with for the last 3 years - processed at the Kinini Washing station, this bean adds the fruity, tea-like and winey elements to this coffee.
La Familia
Caramel / Red Grape / Chocolate
La Famiia Primavera is a group of 16 small holder farmers based around the town of San Antonio Huista, in the highlands of Huehuetenango. This is a beautifully balanced coffee cupping 84/85 points. A well rounded, all day, every day coffee with a chocolatey caramel finish. Red grape winey notes present in a black coffee, ideal for cafetiere or filter.
Muchagara AA
Blackberry / Cherry Tomato / Demerara
Muchagara AA selection is produced by the Baragwi Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga. This is an outstandingly complex coffee scoring 89 points. You’ll find a fruity acidity with hints of blackberry, lemon and pineapple. A sweetness reminiscent to roasted cherry tomatoes with a long lasting demerara sugar aftertaste. This coffee is ideal for big fans of juicy Kenyan coffees. A shame to add milk.
